McGill held a flag ceremony at their Town Council Meeting on July 16, 2013 at 7:00 PM. Attracting a large crowd, the McGill Boy Scout Troop #63 performed the patriotic ceremony on the front porch of the Senior/Community Center on Avenue K.
During the event Taps played while the Boy Scouts prepared the old United States Flag for retirement, hung the new United States Flag, the new State of Nevada Flag, and unveiled the new McGill Flag. Attendees followed McGill Town Council Chairman, Bob Winder, in the Pledge of Allegiance.
