A Community Rich in History

Located In Beautiful Eastern Nevada

McGill, Nevada is more than a great community, its an amazing community surrounded by a recreational paradise.

Although located in one of the most remote regions, its access to recreation is of major benefit to the residents who call McGill and the surrounding mountains and valleys home. Included in the varied recreational activites are: fishing, hunting, bike riding, hiking, rockhounding, wildlife viewing, and off road adventuring.

Parks

Located in the town boundaries of McGill are three parks: Circle Park, at the northern end of the downtown area; McGill Park, where the swimming pool is situated; and the McGill Ballpark near the McGill Elementary School.

Rexall Drug Store Museum

McGill Drug Co., in downtown McGill, is an old small-town drugstore frozen in time. The Drug Store is one of only three working soda fountains in the area, a symbol of small-town life prior to our modern era of large chain-stores. From a historical standpoint, it is an amazing record of every business transaction, invoice and prescription filled, as far back as 1915. By appointment only, for more information visit mcgilldrugstoremuseum.org or contact Daniel Braddock at (775) 235-7082 to schedule a tour ahead of time.

Railroading & Trains

Kennecott Copper Corporation's donation of the railroad after they ceased mining operations in the area was destined to become a wonderful museum called Nevada Northern Railyard. Train enthusiasts can experience all facets of the railroad from just taking a train ride to actually working on the railyard or renting a railcar. Check out all the exciting activities the museum offers by going to nnry.com.
